WKL aims to sell 30k units of newly launched e-Cond
WKL Eco Earth Sdn Bhd has targeted to trade about 30,000 of its newly launched eco-friendly air-conditioning system “e-Cond” in the domestic and international markets by 2019.
CMO Ken Ong Chun Heng said the environmentally friendly air-conditioning system is expected to be marketed nationwide mainly in the Klang Valley, Johor and Penang next year, following an expansion plan to penetrate the Singapore and China markets.
“About 14,000 of the projected sales would derive from the local market through retail buyers, while the remaining sales would be from partnerships with property developers, as well as other international stakeholders mainly from China.
“At present, the management is still in the discussion stages with several Chinese partners, which is expected to be concluded by next year, barring any unforeseen circumstances,” he said during the launch ceremony in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
The e-Cond is a proprietary technology of heat emission control system that regulates the temperature and volume of heat transferred from the air-conditioning system to the environment.
WKL CEO and founder Datuk Seri Dr Low Wai Koon said e-Cond has also garnered interest from other parts of South-East Asia apart from Singapore and China.
“Looking ahead, we would definitely look to expand in the international market, as well as through other retail and institutional partners should the opportunity presents itself, but for now — we are focused on achieving the overall sales target before proceeding with more expansion plans,” he said.
Following the launch of e-Cond, WKL also inked an agreement with Selangor-based property developers such as Nova Heritage Development Sdn Bhd, as well as
Hawson and Hanson Sdn Bhd to include e-Cond units into each housing unit of the property projects located in Sungai Besar.
Low said the agreement with the two parties is the starting point to improve the standards of living, as well as to create awareness on conserving the earth’s resources.
WKL corporate finance director Caroline Ong Bee Cen said the residential projects from the two developers comprises 266 units of semi-detached houses and 60 units of smaller high-end units respectively, which each housing unit is expected to instal between three and five e-Cond products.
“We are selling the e-Cond products for approximately RM2,000 per unit; it is discounted for our partners that would be purchasing the units in large quantities,” she said.
Caroline believes that the eco-friendly green industry is expected to be the leading sector over the next two decades, supported by the society’s growing awareness to conserve the earth’s natural resources.
“Also, the price of e-Cond is comparable or slightly higher to the conventional air-conditioning system.
“As such, the cost-and energy-savings mechanism, which requires minimal investment in the longer period, would serve as a better investment choice for buyers,” she said.
The world is poised to instal over 700 million air-conditioning systems by 2030 and 1.6 billion by 2050.
